Yes we use fuse holders like that in our control panels. They either have Neon or LEDs in them. You do have to be careful, they pass a couple mA through the bulb so if you leave the bulb in the circuit it will pass enough leakage to bite on 120 V ac.

Back in day when you had the old Edison base fuses in the house fuse box, you could put a 100 W buib in for a fault finder. I wonder if Edison himself thought of that possibility and designed the system such that a bulb could be installed in place of a fuse.
