What part of the "greater" DC area are you from? I'm up NW of DC in Montgomery County, but I'm originally from the Chantilly area.
There are quite a few others experienced and knowledgeable w123 owners in the metro area, don't be shy and definitely seek them out if you get in a bind. I've had guys drive a hour to help me for 10 minutes from this forum when I was getting started.
Don't get discouraged if you find yourself in a bad way, 99% of the time someone on this forum has been there already and usually documented it.
