A lot of the screws I have seen over the years in junk yards were a bit rusted. Surface rust, that is.

I should think that a bit of polish would minimize this, but has anyone any suggestions for cleaning them of this surface rust?

By the way.... One good thing about them is that the washers don't usually fall off due to their shape, but take care to make sure they don't fall off anyway.
