As far as failures go, 90%+ of the time the failure is in the amplifier. I've seen a few actuators fail but a very small percentage compared to amplifier failure. The 91 300D uses an 005 545 05 32 part number amplifier. I have put nearly 30,000 miles on one of my rebuilt amplifiers in my own 300D.

Not to Jump the thread, but since he is buying today...I have otherwise stepped the motor down from electrical to mechanical so far.. If I am not using the cruise control, I can remove the entire assembly in the top red high-lighted square. I do not need the single linkage heading back for manual throttle, correct? Throttle close tension is from the aft arm?
