Thanks Benzmac for your help..

It looks like the previous owner has messed with this system. Where is the "splitter" on the left side of the car? This would be the one with lines coming off of it to both left doors.

My clue that someone has previously screwed with the system is that there is no vacuum line anywhere to be found in the driver's door :<
