Just an update.

Was going to pull the trigger on the 22si and get started fabbing brackets. On a whim I called the local junk yard - 300SD alternator for 35 bucks. OK, I bite. Got her installed and running. 13.4 volts. Darn, that ain't going to charge anything.

Do these have an adjustable regulator or a voltage sensing wire like the Delcos?

Drove it to my girlfriend's house and to the grocery store and back. Noticeably slower starts every time - she ain't charging.
