Oil level isn't steady. It definitely uses/burns oil. I replaced the valve stem seals about 10-15k miles ago. Not sure about the VP. Car was manufactured march of '82 in Stuttgart and has 2 hoses coming from it if that determines anything. I forget which type has 1 or 2 hoses.
