YEP
I did drop the pan and
VB of my E300D and found the problem with my 1000 rpm early shifts at WOT, there was some lost movement in the linkage (someone tried to fiddle with it before and sort of bent it too)
Connected it properly and tested it full movement achieved. replaced
VB and drove the car (albeit being smashed from behind) and I got the 5400 rpm upshift from 1-2 and 2-3. WOW.
