How do I remove and open up antenna to remove broken mast lead?

I know how to replace antenna masts. What I'm not sure about is how to deal with an antenna where part of the mast lead is broken off in the antenna.

This is on my 190E (that I plan to sell). Don't know whether I want to mess with it or not. Currently the mast is installed, sticking part way up. But the nylon lead is gobbled up inside the antenna. I may simply leave as is and note it as one of the car's few minor flaws....or I may deal with it.

First, what would I need to disconnect to remove than antenna completely?

Second, what would I do to open up the antenna to get the nylon lead out?

Thanks.
