Pigs have a hide that is so thick that when the snake strikes them the fangs cannot get through the skin.
I have seen a wild hog take a .357 to the head and just shake it off. It reminded me of the Waco Kid's advice to Bart in Blazing Saddles... Don't shoot Mongo. It just makes him mad.
A friend of mine has a Bushmaster at his ranch to deal with them. I have knocked them down with an 8 mm Mauser, but the .223 seems to deal with them just as well although you have to hit them a time or two.
And they eat everything. A cottonmouth would just be a light snack, but they would never pass one by.
And I agree with Larry 100% on this. Kill 'em all, diamondbacks, copperheads, etc.....
