Check the clearance of the belt with the "flap" part of the adjustment bracket. The part that forms a pocket around the threaded part of the L-shaped threaded bolt. The flap can get bent and if there is a bit of wobble as the belt moves, it can rub on the edge of the flap. That could lead to belt shredding over time. The flap can be gently bent up and out of the way if needed.
