I have to wonder why. After all, if auto manufacturers had to make "California emissions" different from the rest of the nation I don't see why text book publishers couldn't print a "Texas" edition with a few extra words in it.

Some sort of disclaimer like "Warning, the state of Texas has determined that thinking is dangerous to your health" etc.
