Sadly, the cliches are the other way around.
Hmmm ... really ? Eric Holder has made quite a few public statements about using or maybe using DoJ firepower against those he targets as being involved in "hate crimes", but yet those very crimes would fall into your category of "local law enforcement issues." I guess it just depends on what makes the list or not and who is keeping that list.
As for Oprah ... she makes a selective stink at best.
