Air bubbling in the (clear) fuel line and weakening the engine.

This is the diagnosis that i have been given so far.
The shop is a good distance away, but Gary's Automotive in Candler, NC is reviewed by tons of locals as the best MB shop around. Though anyone could make a mistake.

The filters were clogging after sitting almost a year for body work.
Shop dropped the take and had it boiled, cleaned the sender, flushed all hard lines, and replaced screen, filters, and rubber lines at the tank.

Same shop redid all seals to the IP a couple years back.
Now AIR is bubbling in one of the lines between lift pump and IP.
No fuel leaking that I know of or heard any claims of this, just air in the lines.

For this model, the mechanic claims that the mounting bolt arrangement for the lift pump is totally different than other w123s??
I can't say from experience, but I thought this IP was totally different size and shape than other w123 diesels?

They are trying a new gasket though first.

Happy to have all your feedback folks!
