What I don't get is how the heck your landlord could donate the car without your consent - especially since you had an extenuating circumstance being that you were hospitalized. You shoudl find out their policy for dealing with abandoned cars that was in effect during that time period (assuming they even had one). IMO, you have a good case for being made whole by them. What she did is technically theft.
