I went a little nuts searching for rust (a well documented problem on W210) this weekend and I wasn't disappointed. I pulled carpets, door cards, rocker trim, fender liners, inspected spring perches, subframe, door seals, trunk seals, trunk floor etc. Eventually I found the tin worm hiding underneath rubber seal on the front door frames where water can get trapped. I'm glad I went through the process. Other than the front window frames, fuel door and a few stone chips the car is rust free. Some sanding, primer and a couple of coats of brushed on gloss white rustoleum (perfect color match) made quick work of the rust.

Even California 210s are not immune.

Next project is replacing the AC clutch and coil. It looks like the coil's thermal fuse blew. I picked up a clutch and coil off a C230k at the JY for $10. Speaking of the JY, anybody else take advantage of the 50% off sale at PyP in SoCal this past weekend? Plenty of goody's to be had.
