In Canada biodiesel is added to all diesel fuel to reduce particulate emissions in all diesel vehicles. It's made from un-marketable canola oil.

I add BD to my diesel fuel to run B20 [approx] in my Toyota truck. It reduces my fuel cost from $5.00/USgal to $3.60/USgal. Currently running B26 in temperatures around -20°F, no problems for the past 4 years doing this.
Simple, easy cost effective. All I had to do was add a FPHE to heat the fuel, no other mods required.
