I would stop driving before paying half that for car insurance. Currently the wives car has full coverage with a five hundred deductible on collision.
My daily driver basically liability with a few other compulsory items of a minor nature to me. Combined premiums are a little over a thousand but less than eleven hundred a year.
The wife I think is high risk having written off two cars. I was surprised this did not push the rates higher than they are.
At my age it is only three years until the province starts checking if I am still fit to hold a drivers licence. This is kind of standard here now. I noticed at seventy they started to ask some questions when I renewed my drivers licence. This is a five year permit here.
