Probably no contest to this...and I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here yet (apologies if it has, I did a search).
NJ teen suing parents won't get immediate support | 6abc.com
In NJ, kid leaves her home because she doesn't like her parents' rules, then sues them because they won't pay for her college tuition. It got thrown out of court, but there's another hearing down the road to see whether they are financially responsible. Meanwhile, the lawyer representing her (and also a friend of the family who had taken her in, big surprise there) has already massed $12k in fees.
I'm not sure there are enough facepalms in the world to adequately capture my reaction. As someone who worked their ass off at that age (and I know I'm not alone on this forum), and then worked their ass off through college to pay for it, this story absolutely stuns me. Toss her ass out on the curb and let her know what real life is like.
