At the Site I believed the Mentioned they were going to supply Parts that Mercedes no longer Makes. Sounds like a Foot in the Door approch to Me.

I speculate that Customers are bugging Mercedes for Parts they no longer want to make so in an attempt to give some Customer Service APA/URO supplies one answer.
