You don't need a spring compressor to do ball joints on a 123. Remove the spindle, turn it upside down in a vise. Pound out the old ball joint with a big drift. Then take your new lemfoerder ball joints and remove the boots. Autozone rental ball joint tool will press the new ones in. Reinstall the boot. And you're done.
