Automatic to stick shift conversion questions

I have a cherry '79 240D Automatic that I would like to convert to a 300 turbo and stick. I have access to a '82 300 turbo car for the donor engine and accessories.
I have read of some of you guys doing the change over to stick. I have done some other conversions on other types of cars and know it is always best to have a complete "Donor" car to get ALL of the goodies needed.
Is the 240d clutch strong enough to hold the 300 turbo? Do you use the 240 flywheel? Do you have to shorten the shift linkage as the trans sits back further with the 5 cyl? What 5 speed are some of you guys using and what year does it come out of? What else do you run into problem wise?
All info appreciated!!! Chris
