i have u.s.version of the osram/sylvania silverstars in my '02 explorer. it has very nice lights [for a change], the silverstars seemed to make a noticable difference.

they are 60/70 watt. i had to buy 4 because my truck takes 9005 and 9006.

the euro osram silverstars are NOT the same as the u.s bulb. euro ones are 55/60 watt and not tinted.

the u.s ones have a bit of a blue coating [very slight] and are 60/70 watt.

these are some of the BEST bulbs you can buy. they put out a nice "white" light and will NOT fry your wiring.

you are right in your last statement: the ONLY way you will SEE the road at night is with euros. period.

i would get those 80/100's out of those u.s.lights. you are asking for damage.

also if you run anything over 80/100 in your EUROS you need a relay or at least upgrade the plugs the bulbs go in.
