Wow, for a modern engine, that seems high. I drove my truck with 6.2 L HMMWV engine for 5250 miles (California and back) and it only used 1/2 a quart. It used more water crossing the Mojave pulling a car-loaded-on-trailer. In fairness it also used two quarts of anti-freeze. Went about 65 the whole trip.
