Little vacuum connection on M102 manifold - what's it for?

G'day Folks,

I've asked elsewhere but have had no serious reactions!

Does anyone know about this connection on a M102 intake manifold?

It sits at the back of the fuel distributor thingy (this is missing in the picture - in case that's not clear - and yeah I know the start valve is the wrong way round but I've already fixed that!)

It came with this bit of fabric covered pipe with a screw stuck in the end of it

Could this be a vacuum connection for an automatic transmission (I have manual shifting gearbox so not needed)?

Thanking you all in advance - need to know - must know
