People in America dont want a long-lasting car because we are a throw-away society. We trade cars every two or three years, so who cares about 20 years! People wont pay a premium for high craftsmanship quality, they want to know "how much horsepower it has" and "whether it has a 6-disc CD player", and want to pay about $25,000 for it. They could care less about whether its still running 30 years later. Pathetic.
