The Jeep AW-4 automatic transmission is electronically shifted using input from the stock engine. It can be shifted manually using toggle switches but theres still the concern about the flywheel adapter. I worry that thing will come loose.

And yes, there are plenty of OM617 adapter options. I just like the idea of keeping the original MB transmission mated to it. That would entail using a "divorced" transfer case with a short driveshaft...
