with my 99 E320 I had lowering springs with denser coil pattern which made it
more challenging to slide in the Klann plates. depending on the overall length
of the spring, it may be possible to lower the lower control arm simply by un-
fastening the pivot bolt and carefully lowering the LCA via a second floor jack.

for the front suspension it was more challenging and I was fortunate enough to
have been able to to push down on the hub just enough to spread the coils a
scooch more and able to slide in the spring compressor plate.

good techniques to learn but i wouldn't recommend this to anyone since safety
is paramount. others on MBWorld and Benzworld have reported having similar
success
