Don't think that will happen with the OS -- it would give Apple a field day. "No monthly fees for our computers, all upgrades are now free." Also, paying a monthly fee will really make people want to upgrade from Win 7. Riiiiiight.
This being said, if that happens, I hope the North Koreans develop a nuclear missile and turn Redmond, WA into a smoking crater right afterward.
