It had been happening sporadically after I reset the trip odometer but now it looks like it could be permanent.

Before sometimes it would tick-tick-tick for a while after I reset the trip odometer but now nothing is going on and the odometer doesn't work either.

I've seen lots of threads for the W123 odometer fixes but none for a W124.

Is there any difference?
