Students rebel against dress code

We can start here but I get the feeling it will migrate to P&R. Not sure how but I just have a feeling....

https://www.yahoo.com/style/tottenville-high-school-dress-code-97658961343.html

I'm not a parent so I'm not sure how that would change my POV.

On the one hand I see kids (especially young women) wearing stuff that I (48 yrs old) find inappropriate. I do not consider my self old fashioned but it leave very very little to the imagination. On the other hand I am not sure I like the school determining what it appropriate to wear. Not sure how to make the determination of what is or and what is not appropriate to wear.

is this appropriate?

According to the Tottenville code definitely not. I tend to agree that this outfit does not belong in school. Guys in tank tops, probably not either.

I think it is kind of funny that they have 200 kids in detention. That would seem to indicate that the dress code is out of date.
