The problem is carbs. They are physically addictive, cheap to produce and plentiful. Most of that large portion size is made up of carbs. Try over over eating fat and protein, its damn near impossible and very expensive. Cut out the carbs and you lose the weight.

Oh and besizes waste line, take look at the prevalence of cardio vascular disease, diabetes and alzheimers. Its all results from the over consumption of carbohydrates. Slow carbs, "whole grains", starches and even fruit is all the same bull **** when it hits your blood stream.
