So I've had very little luck with finding the lower body trim for my 1981 300CD. I'm missing that little piece that sits behind the passenger side door, toward the bottom of the body. I mean, I've found some, but I don't want to pay $40+ for that.

Is there any reason that I can't get a piece of body trim from some other W123 and just trim it to size to stick on there?
