If business is up, the CEOs compensation goes up. CEOs are put in place to maximize profits and when they do so they are rewarded thusly. I agree severance packages for bankrupt companies is bs, but that is not the case with ford. This CEO has made some smart decisions (finally combining ford us and ford UK who up to this point had behaved as separate companies and shared little info between them) and profits are up. Good for him. When my business makes more money, I make more money. I don't really see the issue in this particular case.

As pointed out ford is neither bankrupt nor receiving government (tax payer) funds, they are just plain making money.

Edit I am wrong previous CEO Alan Mulally opened things up with ford UK. But the current CEO was with the company at the time and worked with Mulally on that project and was integral to fords turn around.
