Attended the funeral for the 23yr old son of a friend of mine today. Very tough. It's hard to imagine a tougher loss than a child in his prime. Child died in a snowboarding accident. Fell into a hole around a tree head first and suffocated. Ski patrol found him dead but performed CPR and got a heartbeat. After a week on life support in the ICU parent's had to decide to pull the plug. I think my friend blames himself because the son had taken a year off between his junior and senior year of college to be a snowboard bum. My friend was unsuccessful in talking his son out of it. He felt bad about that even before the accident. The weight is heavy I suspect.

Mother was laid off from her job two hours before her son died.
