On the 612 that connector is for the Becker auxiliary CB radio model 435F. It has only two pins and it won't help you with an auxiliary audio input.
The earlier Becker pinstripe radios like the Europa stereo used a similar din connector for an auxiliary cassette deck. Stereo radios have 4 pins (L+R output and L+R input). Mono early Europa radios have 2 pins (output and input). These signals are line level audio.
The pins in the cap bridge the socket to connect the input and output when an accessory is not used.
