Have a 76 240d. When I add oil to the Injection pump, the engine revs about half pedal, blows out tons of oil smoke until the oil level goes down in the IP pump.
Is this normal? How can it burn oil from the oil reservoir of the IP pump?

Could the leather diaphragm in the pump be torn and somehow causing this?
