Just like mercedes, the vws have their strong and weak points. Personally i find them very comparable in reliability at half the price tag.

One thing for sure, the mercedes FSM has nothing on the bentley manual that can be had for any vw year and chassis.

I reduced my mk2 to a pile of parts and back again easily with the bentley. Did the same with a mk4 as well, which i consider a great car.
