"Problem" with my rebuilt mono wiper motor found

I posted about my rebuilt mono wiper motor, saying it died at just 1 1/2 years old. Simply stopped working in mid position.

I went to replace the 'bad motor' today and found that the wiper was stuck in mid position because the rubber track the gear runs on disintegrated, and was blocking the wiper from moving the whole way across the windshield, despite taking out the old grease and putting in new grease when I did the job last time.

Ultimately, the rubber disintegrates so if you are lubing that area, just replace the 1/2 moon shaped rubber piece. Plan ahead so you have it on hand. Since I didn't know I needed one, I ordered one but it won't be here for 6 days and I have the car apart. Total bummer.

Mine is a Bosch wiper unit, so to get the 1/2 moon shaped rubber piece out, you have to take off the weird shaped band that runs the whole way around the bottom of the unit to get access to the 3 screws that hold each half of the metal brackets.
