I am guessing this is because summer is 50% over and they don't want to be stuck with a lot of inventory they cannot move until next May.

Still, not a bad time to stock up. This stuff has a shelf life of about five years. It will never go bad on its' own but it will leak out from the can's seals if it is exposed to temp swings, such as being stored in an unheated garage.
