I ran a free carfax check but I didn't save it. I thought a courtesy copy would be emailed to me. I'll probably just get more spam.

It's very possible that the car has been driven 3000 miles since May. Some cars that sit in lots for a long time. It's a catch 22. I always figure I'll wait until the car has been at a lot for a while before bargaining then I ask myself why no one has bought it.

I have a hard time believing that the car has over a million miles. True mileage unkown I can understand but exceeded the mechanical limits of the odometer is impossible. I wouldn't put money on it but I'll bet it's a clerical error.

Question is, if you replace the gauge cluster on a 95 140 (not the series strong suit), does it change the odometer reading? I thought MBs of this vintage stored the odometer reading in some ECU, not in the gauge cluster. These cars don't run if you disconnect the speedometer cable so it's not as simple as that.
