There was a story in the Tulsa World about the Wally World that closed there.

It appears the thing is getting a top to bottom makeover. New auto repair shop/equipment, new and upgraded electrical systems and a beefed up plumbing system. It is if they are keeping the shell of the building are rebuilding it from the inside out.

This effort reminds me of something McDonald's did about ten years ago. They took some of their most high volume stores and ripped them down so they could be replaced with a new design. And it was a great success since the goal was to spend less handling each food item and the existing buildings could not be modified to deal with the new system.

But WalMart has failed before. Check out anything you can find on the Hypermart in Arlington. It still makes money but nothing like they thought it would.

After building two of them WalMart gave up on the concept.
