Hey guys...

Went to replace my dead alternator today.. removed the pulley and fan from the original and there was no woodruff key in place.

There is a groove in the shaft for the key and notches in the pulley, spacers, and fan as well.. but no key. I've read that on some years, the key was not used and on some years it was...

No local pull-a-part yards... and I doubt the local hardware store has a metric woodruff key selection...

Is this key needed on this year?

I'm upgrading to the 115amp Saab alternator.
