Is my paint ruined?

I have noticed that my car has a dull haze to it. Even after waxing. I will wash it, use a rubbing compound on it and it looks great, but when I wax it, it will shine, but then I notice that it will look hazy on some areas, especially the hood where I can see the circular pattern of the polisher. These aren't scratches, just haze. I notice it more after I wax it (I only use Megiuars products, so nothing cheap or anything like that, but I don't want this to be a thread about brands just the haze). The other day I decided to use just the rubbing compound on it and the car looked amazing. I keep it in the garage. I drove a bit, but not much. The next morning I go in the garage and I noticed that the haze is coming back. So is the paint ruined or what is going on? Here is a picture of a partially compounded hood. You can see that it gets a beautiful shine, but it just doesn't last. I have not noticed any of the fish scale or flaking of clear coat either.
