Just recently, I replaced my starter NOT because it wouldnt crank but because it started in the run position. I suspected the solenoid as the plastic part of the solenoid was just being held by epoxy. It happened again with the replacement starter. The starter turned on while the engine was running. Right now when i turn the key to the run position, it would turn on the starter. I was looking at the second photo and maybe that could be the cause of my problem or do i have to replace the entire steering lock kit?
