posibble brake problem 430ML

I have a 1999 430 ML with brake problems. Everything appears to be working but a warning beep tells me otherwise. A light on the dash shows the far right one in the cluster. A quick look though the owners manual says that it could be low fluid level, worn brake pads, or the brake bias sensor. The pads are new, fluid level is full and the brakes work but I'm concerned about driving the car and the beeping would drive anyone nuts.

Is this something I can fix myself? Is it in the ABS unit or is it a seperate sensor? And, is it safe to drive to get it checked out? I'm very familiar with MB cars but not ones this new and not this level of electronics.
