Look on the back head of the compressor. There will be a label with the MB number and the Nippondenso number. The number 10p17c refers to a 10 cyl compressor (5 pistons working both directions) with a displacement or capacity of 17 (whatevers). The earlier 201 and 124 cars had 10p15c and later 10pa15c compressors. The v8s had 17c compressors from the first nippondensos.
Both systems were upgraded to larger capacities 15s to 17s to 20s to variable displacement compressors in the 210 body in 96.
