I am reviving this old old thread. Hope that is okay around here.
I don't see the need in re hashing the same troubleshooting steps.
I also soldered a jumper wire for the relay in the passenger footwell.
I ran a test light and I now have constant power to the solenoid in the transmission with ignition key on. When you step on the brake pedal it loses power.
I assume this is the solenoid that puts the transmission in 2nd gear when you are resting at a stop to reduce forward creep.
I crawled under the car and put my hand on the solenoid ( I assume it is the unit that is on the front of the trans, there is another wire that branches off to the rear of the trans but looks like a reverse switch)
The solenoid made no noise and felt zero "clicking" or actuation.
Has anyone else had luck troubleshooting this? Does anyone know where I can find a new solenoid assembly?
