Is it normal to get an inconclusive reading on the tranny dipstick with this car (84 300D)? No matter which way I have the stick turned in its tube housing, I never get a definitive reading; the fluid is always "streaky" at the end of the stick. Is this because the tranny is so low on fluid that it needs more to give an accurate reading? And yes, I'm following directions for the warm-up period, and shifting through the drive selector.
