The 38pin connector gives us diagnostic access to systems like airbag, pnuematic systems, inst cluster, remote locking and drive auth., headlamp range adj., climate control and so on.
The OBDII under the dash will provided standardized OBD codes that are required by the Fed gov. (Engine, tranny)
